Leona F. CLARKE dies at 79

Leona FRITCHEN CLARKE, 79, died at 3 a.m. today at Parkview Care Center. Before entering Parkview Mrs. CLARKE had lived at 401 W. Kirkwood.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. CLARKE was born April 7, 1903 at Harper, the daughter of Nick and Mary KEIFER FRITCHEN. She had been a resident of Jefferson County since 1913. On April 4, 1926 she married George E. CLARKE, who died Feb. 4, 1962.

Surviving are three grandsons, several great-grandchildren and two brothers, Frank and Will. A son and two brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. CLARKE taught for 25 years in Brighton, Pekin and New London. She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church and taught the Philathea Sunday School Class for 25 years. She was a member of PWHB Star of Bethelem(?) Shrine 44, PNG Rebekah Lodge 96 and a charter member of Keep Young Club and Jefferson County Retired Teachers Association.

IN THE MATTER OF THE ESTATE OF LEONA CLARKE, DECEASED.

TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE ESTATE OF LEONA CLARKE, DECEASED:

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 21ST DAY OF MAY, 1982, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF LEONA CLARKE, DECEASED, BEARING DATE OF THE 5TH DAY OF MAY, 1982, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT LEROY NEECE WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF SAID ESTATE.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ANY ACTION TO SET ASIDE SAID WILL MUST BE BROUGHT IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF SAID COUNTY WITHIN SIX MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE, OR THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ALL PERSONS INDEBTED TO SAID ESTATE ARE REQUESTED TO MAKE IMMEDIATE PAYMENT TO THE UNDERSIGNED, AND CREDITORS HAVING CLAIMS AGAINST SAID ESTATE SHALL FILE THEM WITH THE CLERK OF THE ABOVE NAMED DISTRICT COURT, AS PROVIDED BY LAW, DULY AUTHENTICATED, FOR ALLOWANCE; AND UNLESS SO FILED WITHIN SIX MONTHS FROM THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE (UNLESS OTHERWISE ALLOWED OR PAID) SUCH CLAIM SHALL THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
