Donald "Don" Leroy UNKRICH, 56, 630 Old Marion Road NE, Cedar Rapids, former area resident, died at his home Wednesday, March 3, 1993, after a long illness.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids with the Rev. Martin Miller officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Fairfield at 12:45 p.m. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
UNKRICH was born Jan. 7, 1937, in Glasgow, Mont., the son of Glen and Ethel COLTON UNKRICH Sr. On Jan. 26, 1958, he married Jacqueline "Jackie" Sue WHITE in Fairfield. He was employed by MCI, was a former employee of Farmstead Foods and a former Jefferson County Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church; Clinton Masonic Lodge 15 at Fairfield; the El Kahir Shrine; Clinton Chapter 9, R.A.M.; Ottumwa Council 31, K.T.; and White Shrine of Fairfield. He had served in the Iowa National Guard.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Jeffrey of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Darcey CORNWELL of Cedar Rapids, Darla WATSON of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Glen W. Jr. of North Liberty, Michael of Fairfield and a sister, Madelene SCHERTZ of Ottumwa. His parents preceded him in death.
