Leonard Earl "Sug" KANE, 73, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
The body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 14 at First Baptist Church in Fairfield. A memorial service also will be held Thursday in Corpus Christi.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sug Kane Memorial, P.O. Box 260006, Corpus Christi, Texas 78426.
Mr. KANE was born May 17, 1927, in Fairfield, the son of John Earl KANE and Hazel HENDRICKS KANE NICHOLS. He married Marilyn FRESCOLN Sept. 17, 194s (??). He married Lillian "Billie" SHIPP in 1958, and Rae CHANDLER June 15, 1977.
He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1945 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended Parsons College and was in sales for most of his life.
Mr. KANE was a former board member of River Hills Country Club and was a current board member of RIGO, both in Corpus Christi. He also was a member of Halingen, Texas, Elks Lodge. He had been active in sports his entire life and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Rae; three daughters, Karen CLINGAN of Derby, Kan., Cindy McENTEE of Stockport and Connie WHITE of Fairfield; two sons, Kevin KANE of Paso Robles, Calif., and Michael KANE of Corpus Christi; six grandsons; five granddaughters; four sisters, Alice FERRELL and Dorothy SCHENK, both of Fairfield, Helen BLUE of Santa Clara, Calif., and Janyce RODENMAYOR of Wilsonville, Ore.; and two brothers, Lee KANE of Urbandale and Les KANE of Baton Rouge, La.
