Sam BILLINGSLEY dies at 91

LOCKRIDGE - Sam C. BILLINGSLEY, 91, Lockridge, died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday at Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery at Glasgow. Friends may call at the funeral home starting at noon Friday. Memorials have been established to Glasgow United Methodist Church and Glasgow Cemetery.

BILLINGSLEY was born Jan. 24, 1896 in Round Prairie, the son of Samuel and Mary HULSE BILLINGSLEY. He married Iva J. ERICKSON July 1, 1922 in Ottumwa. She died Feb. 13, 1983. He had lived his entire life in Round Prairie Township, where he farmed until retiring.

Surviving are a son, Donald of Lockridge; a daughter, Dorothy B. Moore of Mount Pleasant; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Thelma MONFORT of Ottumwa. A son, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
