Death Takes Mrs. KNAUSS

Laura A. KNAUSS, 83, 701 S. Fifth, died Saturday evening at the Jefferson County Hospital where she had been ill the past 10 days.

The funeral will be Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m., at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. George Koch officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials were to the Heart Fund. Visitation is tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 28, 1893 at Germanville, Iowa, the daughter of William and Ella SHEPHERD. She was reared by Sherman and Ella HAIFLEY. She was married to Harry A. KNAUSS on April 19, 1910. He died Aug. 5, 1963.

Mrs. KNAUSS was a resident of this community for over 70 years. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

She is survived by one son, Wilbur KNAUSS of Guthrie Center; three daughters, Alvena BARNETT of Waterloo, Dorothy ELLIOTT of LaPorte City and Berndina METZ of Fairfield; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Goldie REMALEY of Burlington, Hazel WELDER of Marion, Ind.; Eva JOHNSON of Boise, Idaho, Ethel BALL of Burlington and Velma RICH of Gas City, Ind.

Two sons, five sisters and one brother are deceased.
