"E. PLEASANT PLAIN RESIDENT IS DEAD.
BRIGHTON, Jan. 28. - - Robert Schoepfor, 76, died about five o'clock this morning at his farm home one mile south of East Pleasant Plain. He suffered a stroke of paralysis some time ago.Funeral services will be Saturday morning at the St. Joseph's Catholic church at East Pleasant Plain, but the hour for the service had not been decided. Frank A. Hoskins, Brighton, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Robert Schoepfor was born in Switzerland and came to the United States in 1893. He was married to Edna Gideon in 1903 who died in 1916. The family lived in the Wayland community many years ago and lived in the Merrimac neighborhood before moving to East Pleasant Plain about 20 years ago.
Surviving are a son and two daughters, Andrew, Bertha and Bessie, all at home. One child died in infancy."

"OBITUARY.
Robert Schoepfer was born in Escholzmatt, Luzern, Switzerland on April 18, 1866 and died at his home south of East Pleasant Plain, Iowa on January 28, 1943 at the age of 76 years, 9 months, 10 days.He had been in failing health for nearly 2 1/2 years and suffered a stroke last June from which he never completely recovered.
In 1906, he was married to Edna Gideon, who died in October, 1916. He never remarried and was the father of four children, one daughter, Marie, dying in infancy in 1911.
He came to this country from Switzerland and was engaged in farming in the Wayland community. In 1918 he moved to a farm south of E. Pleasant Plain where he remained until his death.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church, where the funeral was held Saturday morning at 9:30 in charge of Father Wetzstein, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of Frank Hoskins of Brighton and pall bearers were: Fred Stalder, August Glanzman, Leo Fritz, Jake Zihlman, Edward Ledger and Joseph Stalder.
He leaves to mourn three children, Bertha and Andy at home and Bessie, who is employed at the Washington county home; also one brother Joseph of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, one sister in Switzerland and a cousin, Herman Schoepfer of Hollandale, Wisconsin."
