JOHN E. HUDSON, FORMER COUNTY RESIDENT, DIES.

Salem, Ia. - - John E. HUDSON, 72, Salem, died Thursday at the Beauchamp Nursing home in Winfield. He was a former resident of Jefferson County. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Round Prairie Baptist church in charge of the Rev. Manuel Nevius. Burial will be in Lambert (sic - Lambirth) Cemetery. The body is at the Pedrick Funeral home in Douds.

HUDSON was born Oct. 4, 1890 in Brooks County, Kansas, moving to Henry County, Iowa, as a child. He farmed for many years and also operated telephone exchanges at Glasgow and Douds.

He was married March 4, 1909 to Mae LEE, who survives. Also surviving are the following children: Delbert HUDSON, Salem; Mrs. Eva BROWN, Burlington; Mrs. Irene THOMAS, New Bloomfield, Mo.; Mrs. Pauline BILLINGSLEY, Wayland; and Mrs. Wilma KIGER, Fairfield.

Other survivors are 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and the following brother and sisters: W. C. HUDSON, Salem; Mrs. Emma SAVAGE of Florida; Mrs. Maggie HUMPHREY, Salem; and Mrs. Rose BEAUCHAMP, Winfield. He was a member of the Round Prairie Baptist church."
