R. BARNETT dies in Wisconsin

BELOIT, Wis. - Russell C. BARNETT, 62, 926 Janson St., Beloit, Wis., formerly of Fairfield, died Saturday at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel in South Beloit, Ill., with the Rev. Bruce Engbretson officiating. Burial will be in Hanover-Plymouth Cemetery near Beloit. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Blackhawk Chapel.

BARNETT was born Sept. 20, 1924 in Fairfield, the son of Oscar and Bertha GOULD BARNETT. He married Vivian QUAYLE Jan. 23, 1954 in Monmouth, Ill. He owned and operated Barnett Nursery and Garden Center in Fairfield for many years before moving to Beloit in 1980. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of First United Methodist Church and the Elks Club in Fairfield and the Rockton, Ill., American Legion Post 332.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Debbie HOGAN of Rockford, Ill., Dixie SCHWEISS of South Beloit, Ill.; a son, Louis HOLSCHER of Norwalk, Ohio; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty PALMER of Waterloo, and a brother, Paul BARNETT of Ormond Beach, Fla. His parents, three sisters, seven brothers and a grandchild preceded him in death.
