Charlotte Virginia BROWNLEE, 99, of Fairfield died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
Burial and a memorial service will be held at a later date in the Washta area.
Cards and memorial contributions may be sent to 408 E. Burlington Ave., Fairfield 52556.
Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Mrs. BROWNLEE was born April 13, 1914, at Washta, the daughter of Leroy and Mary THOMPSON PEASE. She married Wayne BROWNLEE in 1933. He died in 1992.
The BROWNLEEs farmed in the Grand Meadow community near Washta for 45 years.
Mrs. BROWNLEE moved to Fairfield in 1995. She was active in the community.
She attended First United Methodist Church and belonged to the Ruth Circle and volunteered at the church. She also volunteered with the Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary at its Gift Shop at the hospital and its The Bargain Box (sic) downtown. She also knitted hats for newborns at the hospitals.
Survivors include her two sons Walter W. BROWNLEE and wife Beth of Fairfield and Bob BROWNLEE and wife Judy of Golden, Colo.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
