Donald H. BRADFIELD

Donald H. BRADFIELD, 90, of Bloomfield, and formerly of Birmingham, died at 8:47 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield.

A funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stockport Christian Church, with Kevin Mote and Jason Mote officiating. Burial with military honors by Haney-Brannan Post No. 181 American Legion of Birmingham will be in Miller Chapel Cemetery in rural Keosauqua (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

Visitation with family present opens at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.

Memorials to Stockport Christian Church or Haney-Brannan Post No. 181 may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 33336 235th St., Milton 52570.

Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.

Mr. BRADFIELD was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Packwood, the son of Vern T. and Lora E. NELSON BRADFIELD. He married Mary SYFERT May 17, 1943, in Stockport.

He lived all of his life in Van Buren County. Prior to moving to Bloomfield, he lived in the Birmingham area.

Most recently he worked as a bus driver for Van Buren community schools. He had been a farmer and realtor in Milton.

He was a member of Haney-Brannan Post No. 181 American Legion in Birmingham.

He was a World War II veteran in the China-Burma-India Theater.

He was a lifelong member of the Stockport Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife Mary of Bloomfield; two sons, Wayne BRADFIELD and spouse Marilyn of Ottumwa and Randy BRADFIELD and spouse Becky of Tipton; two daughters, Anita SWARTZ and spouse Lauren of Baker, Ore., and Brenda THOMAS and spouse Steve of Milton; 12 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and one brother.
