Earl E. GARMOE

Earl E. GARMOE, 71, 1005 E. Jefferson Ave., died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1993, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or orgaqnization (sic) of donor's choice.

GARMOE was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Fairfield, the son of Carl and Mabel STEPHEN (sic - STEPHENS) GARMOE. He married Ethel M. THOMAN on Feb. 19, 1950, in Elgin. A lifelong resident of Fairfield, he was an insurance and real estate agent. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II, attaining the rank of 2nd lieutenant. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 4 and Elks Lodge 1192.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, B. Jean ANDERSON of Van Meter; two grandchildren and a sister, Ruth PLOWMAN of Douds. A daughter, Linda, and two infant brothers, Dean and Warren, preceded him in death.
