Gordon Keith Dimmitt, 76, of Rogers, Ark., and formerly of Ottumwa, died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at his home.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rollins Funeral Chapel in Rogers. Services also will be held in Iowa at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Foundation, Washington, D.C., or St. Mary's Hospice Team of Rogers.

Mr. Dimmitt was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Ottumwa, the son of Earl and Florence Dimmitt.

After serving in the military in World War II in the 11th Airborne Division as part of the first occupational troops in Japan, he attended Iowa Wesleyan College for two years.

Mr. Dimmitt moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1982, where he owned and operated the Bella Vista Car Wash and Burgundy Inn Restaurant near Bella Vista. The past 13 years he worked for Pinnacle Golf and Country Club in Rogers.

He enjoyed playing golf, being outdoors, and playing cards and billiards.

Survivors include one son, Keith Dimmitt and wife Sandi of Fairfield; one daughter, Lynn Iverson of Venice, Fla.; two grandsons; one sister, Edith Kitchell of Bella Vista; and fiancee, Delores Carter of Rogers.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
