Eithel Ann SHEMANSKI

Eithel Ann SHEMANSKI, 81, of Keota, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Maplewood Manor in Keota (note: in Keokuk Co., IA).

A funeral Mass is at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Polishville Community Center, with the Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be in Polishville Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today, Thursday, at Powell funeral Home in Keota, and also at 10 a.m. until the funeral Friday at Polishville Community Center.

Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling arrangements.

Mrs. SHEMANSKI was born Nov. 10, 1932, near Martinsburg, the daughter of Harley and Florence HENINGER DICKSON. She married Stanley John SHEMANSKI Nov. 29, 1958, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield. He died in March 2009.

She attended country school, Martinsburg School and graduated from Hedrick High School in 1950.

She and her husband lived in Keota.

She worked at Maplewood Manor and in Iowa City for 16 years, retiring in 1995.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking for her husband and sons, and being with her grandchildren.

Survivors include four sons, Gary and spouse Kathy of Iowa City, Jim and spouse Michele of Pella, Rick and spouse Karen of Solon and Dave and spouse Cari of Keota; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her parents.
