James Franklin McShane, 61, of 2329 Glasgow Road died at 5:38 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital

The body will be cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Family visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. McShane was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Homer and Margaret See McShane. He married Nancy Anderson in Fairfield. They divorced.

Mr. McShane lived most of his life in Jefferson County. He was a self-employed cement and roofing contractor.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas and Michael McShane, both of California; one daughter, Angela Platt of California; several grandchildren; three brothers, David Mickels of Fairfield, Tim Mickels of Richland, and Harold McShane of Mount Pleasant; and his mother, Margaret Mickels of Richland.

He was preceded in death by his father, Homer McShane; stepmother, Cleo McShane; and stepfather, Richard Mickels.
