Robert Lawson DeLASHMUTT

Robert Lawson DeLASHMUTT, 67, of Swedesburg and formerly of Fairfield died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

The funeral and graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield, with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating. Those attending are asked to meet at noon at Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant to go to the cemetery.

Visitation will beheld from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Beatty Funeral Home, with family present from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. DeLASHMUTT was born April 8, 1934, in Keokuk, the son of Robert Harrison and Elva ROBERTS DeLASHMUTT. He married Rosemary GARRETT Dec. 5, 1954.

Mr. DeLASHMUTT graduated in the class of 1952 from Keosauqua High School and attended Scott Community College for three years. He was a mechanical engineer. He served for three years in the Iowa National Guard. Mr. DeLASHMUTT had been disabled since 1973, but enjoyed silversmithing, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Dixie Lou THACKER and her husband Ronald of West Virginia, Vicki CALDWELL and her husband Kevin of Davenport, and Rhonda LYONS and her husband Jeff of Mount Pleasant; two sons, Robert DeLASHMUTT and his wife Diane of Davenport and Dean DeLASHMUTT, also of Davenport; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry DeLASHMUTT of Middletown and Orvis of Galesburg, Ill.; and one sister, Carol Sue COLLOPY of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Debra.
