Jacqueline 'Jackie' POPEJOY

Jacqueline 'Jackie' POPEJOY, 76, of 304 Iowa Ave. died at 1:05 a.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with the Rev. Traverce Harrison and Larry Brown officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Christian Church or Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary.

Mrs. POPEJOY was born July 3, 1925, in Seymour, the daughter of John and Norene BANNING. She married Bobby POPEJOY Sept. 24, 1949, at First Christian Church.

Mrs. POPEJOY graduated from Seymour High School in Seymour and attended Parsons College in Fairfield. She has lived in the Fairfield community most of her life.

She was employed at Artesian Ice Company in Ottumwa from 1944-1945. She worked at the Ice and Locker Plant in Fairfield from 1945-1962. She worked as a tax preparer for Graf and Company for 18 years.

She was treasurer for Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary's Bargain Box for 20 years. She was a member of the Wednesday Afternoon Coffee Club, Thursday Morning Breakfast Club, William Henry Coop Chapter of Questers, Fairfield Women's Club, Fairfield Business and Professional Women's Club and Jefferson County Hospice.

Mrs. POPEJOY was a member of First Christian Church, where she was involved with the Hannah-Ruth circle of the Christian Women Fellowship.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Sheri RENAUD of Ottumwa; two grandchildren; and one step-grandson.

She was preceeded in death by her parents.
