Martha JOHNS

Martha Ellen JOHNS, 94, 52 W. Washington Ave., died early today, Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Nelson Nursing Home.

A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lockridge Cemetery in Lockridge with the Rev. Marvin Roebuck officiating.

Family visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church of Fairfield.

Mrs. JOHNS was born Nov. 3, 1910, in Glasgow, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth EFFENBERGER STEPEHENSON. She married Arthur JOHNS March 2, 1947, in Waukegan, Ill. He died April 30, 1981.

She lived most of her life in the Fairfield community with some years in the Chicago area. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include several nieces.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Esther BURNETT; and two brothers, Martin and Alvin STEPHENSON.
