Russell Virgil KELLER

Russell Virgil KELLER, 83, 909 N. 12th St., died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 1996, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

KELLER was born March 22, 1912, in Jefferson County, the son of Jule and Maggie LIBLIN KELLER. On Oct. 3, 1934, he married Mary Esther MORRIS in Fairfield. She died July 10, 1993. A lifelong resident of the Fairfield area, he farmed in his earlier days and later worked at Iowa Malleable for 27 years. He was fond of working with horses and farmed with them. He was an avid outdoorsman, and growing raspberries and blackberries, and hunting were favorite pastimes.

Surviving are three daughters, Ruby DIMMITT, Ruth GODWIN and Maxine KELLER, all of Fairfield; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Earl of Cantril. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Marshall, Ralph and James; a sister, Marcel Bereton; and an infant daughter, Lydia Marie.
