Elmer E. MOORE

BRIGHTON - Elmer E. MOORE, 79, of rural Brighton, died at 8:12 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 1993, at Parkview Care Center.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Rev. Kenneth Royar officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Open visitation begins Saturday morning at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Camp Courageous and the Blinded Veterans of America.

MOORE was born April 13, 1914, in Pleasant Plain, the son of Joseph and Myrtle BAKER MOORE. He lives most of his life in the Brighton community, attended rural school south of Brighton and graduated from Brighton High School. He worked in Davenport for Harry Alter and Sons Co. for seveal years, after which he served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 during world War II with the Engineers Theater. He and Grace Irene SMITH wre married Jan. 18, 1948, in Davenport by the Rev. Glasspell. They farmed in the Brighton area. He worked at Heatilator in Mount Pleasant until retiring. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge in Mount Pleasant.

Surviving are his wife; a step-mother, Lenore MOORE of Fairfield; a brother, Loren of Washington, Iowa; and a sister, Mabel DOWNING of Avenal, Calif. A brother, Donal, preceded him in death.
