Ellen TRABERT HINKLE

LOCKRIDGE - Ellen TRABERT HINKLE, 74, of rural Lockridge, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 1993, at her home.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville with the Rev. John Pitcher officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. There will be a fellowship lunch at the church after the burial. Visitation is open at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials have been established to Hope Lutheran Church, Fairfield Public Library, and Union Cemetery.

Mrs. HINKLE was born Nov. 7, 1918, in LaJunta, Colo., the daughter of Matthias and Lillie Mae FRAZIER TRABERT. She married Harold Raymond HINKLE on June 3, 1939, in Trenton. He died July 6, 1992. A resident of Jefferson County since 1934, she had taught for 27 years in the Fairfield School System. She attended Hope Lutheran Church, was a member of Jefferson County Retired Teachers, Delta Kappa Gamma at Parsons College, and Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Society. She graduated from Parson College with a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education and had completed an additional 30 hours of study.

Surviving are a son, Duanne Douglas of rural Lockridge; three sisters, Ruth DILTS of Albuquerque, N.M., Lois PARRETT HICKENBOTTOM of Batavia, Esther SMITH of Redwood City, Calif.; two brothers, Max TRABERT of Monte Sereno, Calif., and Josesp Earl TRABERT of Aptos, Calif. Her parents, a brother, Matthias, sister, Naomi, and an infant brother preceded her in death.
