Dorothy CRAIG

Dorothy CRAIG, 65, of East Moline, Ill., former Fairfield resident, died at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 1993, at Trinity Medical Center in Moline, Ill.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church in East Moline, with burial in Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home in East Moline. The Rev. O'Connor will conduct the liturgy at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to Pathway Hospice.

Mrs. CRAIG was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Fairfield, the daughter of Julius and Rachel VERVAEKE VAN DE VOORDE. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1946 and attended beauty college. On Oct. 30, 1948, she married Charles R. CRAIG at St. Mary Church in Fairfield. He died in 1975. She retired as Rock Island County Recorder of Deeds in November 1992.

Surviving are two daughters, Debra DAVIS of Anchorage, Alaska, Janet STEINHAUSER of Port Byron, Ill.; two sons, Tim and Charles, both of Anchorage; nine grandchildren; brother, Julius VAN DE VOORDE, and a sister, Georgette WITTMER, both of Fairfield. Her parents and a brother, Rene George VAN DE VOORDE, preceded her in death.
