Irene B. WINFREY, 77, 205 E. Fillmore Ave., died at 1:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 1996, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. WINFREY was born Feb. 2, 1919, in Ottumwa, the daughter of John J. and Laura ULLRICK DUGGAN. She grew up in Keokuk, attended school in Fairfield, graduating from Fairfield High School. On Nov. 15, 1937, she married Bennie Francis WINFREY in Ottumwa. A resident of Fairfield all of her adult life, she was an active member of First Christian Church, and was a member of Christian Women's Fellowship.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Patti S. Ralph of Des Moines; a son, Jeffrey J. of Mount Pleasant; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, William DUGGAN of Marshalltown. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Charlie DUGGAN; and a sister, Marcene PHILLIPS.
