Russell 'Russ' HARWARD

Russell "Russ" HARWARD, 76, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., passed away Jan. 15, 2014. he was born December 12, 1937 in Douds, Iowa to Lowell and Hazel WILEY HARWARD.

Russ was a devoted family man with a keen sense of humor. He loved golf and fishing. Russ also enjoyed woodworking and skeet shooting.

He is predeceased by his parents; brothers, Richard, Robert and Rex HARWARD; and son, Greg HARWARD.

Russ is survived by his wife, Mary HARWARD of Hot Springs Village; children, Roger (Patty) HARWARD, Scott (Stephany) HARWARD and Kelly ELSEMAN, all of Fairfield; brother, Roscoe (Mary) HARWARD of California; sisters, Bernice GIBSON of Iowa, Virginia LAYMAN of Montana, Jennie (Rex) CHACEY of Iowa and Mary Ann WATSON of Missouri; grandchildren, Shawna HARWARD, Nathan ELSEMAN, Natalie ELSEMAN, Tiffany (Germain) PEREIRA, Jason HARWARD and Holly HARWARD; and great grandchildren, Brennan HARWARD, Lilly PEREIRA, Madison HARWARD, Savannah HARWARD and Taitlyn ELSEMAN.

Russell "Russ" HARWARD, 76, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.

A memorial service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Coughlin (sic - Coughron?) officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Mr. HARWARD was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Douds, the son of Lowell and Hazel WILEY HARWARD. He married Mary COLEMAN Jan. 14, 1955.

Mr. HARWARD was a devoted family man with a keen sense of humor. He loved golf and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and skeet shooting.

Survivors include his wife, Mary HARWARD of Hot Springs Village; three children, Roger HARWARD and wife Patty, Scott HARWARD and wife Stephany, and Kelly ELSEMAN, all of Fairfield; one brother, Roscoe HARWARD of California; four sisters, Bernice GIBSON of Iowa, Virginia LAYMAN of Montana, Jennie CHACEY of Iowa and Mary Ann WATSON of Missouri; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
