"REV. S. S. STEWART passed away last night at 12:25 o’clock at his home, 302 South Seventh Street…..Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Free Methodist Church in charge of Rev. R. T. Fine assisted by Rev. L. Mendenhall and Rev. Mark Shockey. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery. Rev. Stewart was born September 16, 1846 in Ohio and came to this state when 7 years old. He has been a Free Methodist minister for the past 50 years, having been pastor of the local church several different times and in all has spent 44 years of his life in this city….."
