Thomas ROWE, 82, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

Arrangements are pending at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Thomas ROWE

Thomas ROWE, 83, of Fairfield, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

A memorial Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Friends are invited to join with the family and wear Hawkeye clothes to honor Mr. ROWE's favorite team.

Visitation with family present is 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church until Mass begins.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary stain glass (sic) window fund, the Adkisson-Rowe Endowment fund, the Fairfield Public Library or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield is handling arrangements.

Mr. ROWE was born July 23, 1930, in Elmhurst, Ill., the son of Thomas and Nathalie WARD ROWE. He married Jane ADKISSON Nov. 23, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield.

He lived in Elmhurst, Sioux Falls, S.D., Ottumwa and Fairfield.

He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1948.

He received his degree in 1956 from University of Iowa school of business and his juris doctor from UI in 1962.

He was an administrative law judge.

He was the Iowa Junior left handed golf chamption in 1952.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He had started AA meetings in Fairfield with his good friend, Mel Gardner.

Survivors include his wife, Jane; four children, Mary Kathryn LAUX and spouse Brian of Brighton, T.J. ROWE and spouse Karen of Fredericksburg, Va., Ken ROWE of Pelham, Ala., and Stephanie RELLY and spouse Robert of Grandview, Mo.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Alan ROWE of Franklin, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Robert, Donald and Jimmy.
