Leo E. 'Bud' ADAMSON

Leo E. "Bud" ADAMSON, 95, of Fairfield died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Hospice House in Ottumwa.

A memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Jena Manchester officiating. Inurnment of cremains will be in Ottumwa Cemetery. (note: in Wapello County, IA)

Visitation with the family present is 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Wapello and Davis counties, 927 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Ottumwa 52501.

Mr. ADAMSON was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Agency, the son of Lloyd and Mary JOHNSTON ADAMSON. He married Helen McCALESTER Sept. 21, 1942. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2013.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He farmed near Agency before retiring and moving to Ottumwa.

He later moved to Fairfield, where he enjoyed visiting with his neighbors and his swimming friends at the Roosevelt Aquatic Center.

He was a member of the Agency United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy McNIEL of Batavia; two sons, Gary L. ADAMSON of Ottumwa and Kenneth E. ADAMSON of Coralville; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Betty ADAMSON of Ottumwa.
