Viola Maxine OSING THOMAS, 88, formerly of Milton died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Parkview Care Center, Fairfield, where she had resided since February 2011.
A funeral is at 2 p.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.
Visitation with family present is 1-2 p.m. Monday, prior to the service.
Memorials to Hospice Compassus may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1367 East Alamosa Drive, Terrell TX 75160.
Mrs. THOMAS was born Oct. 18, 1925, near Cantril, the daughter of August H. and Rose Marie PFLANZ OSING. She married Carl DAVIDSON and they divorced. She married Cleo THOMAS Aug. 21, 1975. He died Aug. 21, 2004.
She lived most of her life in Ottumwa and Milton.
She was a devoted wife and mother.
She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, quilting and playing with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce CAREY and spouse Cecil of Fairfield, and Teresa BROSEH and spouse Earl of Terrell, Texas; two stepsons, Steve THOMAS and spouse Brenda of Milton, and Dean THOMAS and spouse Debbie of Parksville, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Nancy Jean SCHWEIGER of Green Valley, Ariz.; seven step-grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Charles OSING of Ottumwa; and one sister, Madeline CRAFF of Dubuque.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.
