C.C. BRIGGS Rites Set

LIBERTYVILLE - Service for Charles C. BRIGGS, 68, well known retired farmer, will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

The Rev. Wayne Bartruff will officiate and interment will be in Fell Cemetery south of Libertyville.

BRIGGS died at 9:10 a.m. Monday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in failing health for some time.

Charles C. BRIGGS was born Dec. 29, 1908, in Attica, the son of James and Mary MASTERSON BRIGGS.

His marriage to Lois HAYS took place June 9, 1944. She survives.

BRIGGS had lived most of his life in Jefferson County in the Batavia and Libertyville communities.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two sons, Robert and Larry; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, James F. BRIGGS, Chicago; and four sisters, Mrs. Edith EVANS and Mrs. June EVANS, both of Bloomfield; Mrs. Elnora BENNETT, Mountain Home, Ark.; and Mrs. Rhoda DABNEY, Casa Grande, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
