Lila RICHARDSON, 79, of Selma, died at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Hospice House of Ottumwa.

Arrangements are pending at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

Lila L. RICHARDSON

Lila L. RICHARDSON, 79, of Selma, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Hospice House in Ottumwa after a life-long battle with diabetes.

A funeral is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in rural Davis County.

Visitation with family is 1-2 p.m. Saturday preceding the service.

Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to 11947 Bridge St., Selma IA 52588.

Mrs. RICHARDSON was born March 14, 1934, in Eldon, the daughter of Harry L. and Delta RUTTAN FANE. She married Rex RICHARDSON Aug. 21, 1953.

She grew up in Eldon and graduated from Eldon High School.

She worked at Benner T Grocery in Ottumwa, and many years at Pedrick Home Center in Douds.

She was active in the Selma United Methodist Women.

She was active in the Douds Chapter, TTT and was a member of Wapello County Fair Board.

She was a fun-loving, kind lady and had many friends.

She and her husband loved to play and sing country music and held many "jam sessions" near and far, including the locally famous Selma Jam. She was always at her husband's side.

Survivors include her husband, Rex; one brother-in-law, Wayne RICHARDSON; and one sister-in-law, Fern SPROUSE and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a half-sister.
