Kenneth L. Lammert, 71, of Sioux City died Friday, March 5, 2004, at his residence.

The funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Kevin Richter officiating. A graveside service and burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the IOOF Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation and a vigil were held Sunday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Additional visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Bloomfield.

Mr. Lammert was born June 4, 1932, in Marshalltown, the son of Lee and Hazel Atwood Lammert. He married Delores Macek Sept. 18, 1951 in Belle Plaine. She died July 11, 1999. He married Emilie Hogan Dec. 4, 1999, in Sioux City.

Mr. Lammert retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service, which included the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.

After his retirement, he moved to Bloomfield and worked for Dataplex in Iowa and Illinois.

He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling in his motor home and fishing.

Survivors include his wife Emilie; one son, Keith Lammert and wife Ginni of Pulaski; seven daughters, Vickie Cowles of Dexter, Kim Ward and husband Gary of Fuquay Varina, N.C., Kay Kneer of Fairfield; Carol Hatzel of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kris Johnston and husband Alan of Cantril, Karen Wesner and husband Bruce of Yankton, S.D., Becky Gibson and husband Kurt of Ankeny; three stepsons, Michael Hogan of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Marty Hogan and wife Carolyn of Sioux City and Monty Hogan of Sioux City; three stepdaughters, Michele Feauto and husband Denny, Missi Rann and Mindy Hogan, all of Sioux City; 19 grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Lammert of Glendale, Ariz.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Morris Lammert; and two sisters, Kate Billingsley and Betty Wandling.
