William F. DUSTIN, whose residence in Jefferson County dated back to 1842, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. James WEIR, in Ottumwa, Sunday morning. Funeral services were held in that city by Rev. D. C. Bevan. The body was taken to Libertyville for interment in the Steele cemetery Monday, services being conducted by Rev. G. W. Barber. Mr. DUSTIN was born in Jeffersonville, Ind., January 24th, 1827, and came to this county when a lad of 15. He was married here to Mary A. PEEBLER, who died April 19th, 1894, and they were parents of nine children. Five of these are yet living -- Mrs. WEIR in Ottumwa, W.E. at Topeka, Kans., W.W. at Bentonsport, Mrs. E.R. POLLOCK at Hedrick and Frank A. in Liberty Township. Mr. DUSTIN was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of 15 and his entire life was consistent with its teachings. He was a man of unusual energy and industry, a very successful farmer and was the owner of 300 acres of fine farming land. His character was above reproach, his honesty and integrity unquestioned. In early life he was a member of the board of supervisors and was steward of the poor farm in 1880-1. Many old friends will regret his death.

Admin. note: Steele Cemetery is better known as Cumberland Cemetery. An obituary for him in "The Fairfield Tribune" lists his surviving son in Bentonsport as 'W.H.', which is incorrect - it is W.W..
