Sandra PHILLIPS, 69, of Mount Pleasant died at 3:55 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Arrangements are pending at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.

Sandra K. PHILLIPS

Sandra K. PHILLIPS, 69, of Mt. Pleasant died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A memorial service is at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua with the Rev. Mark Clark officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Fellows Cemetery, Keosauqua (note: Van Buren Co., IA).

The family will greet friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.

Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 19050 Route V-64, Douds 52551.

Mrs. PHILLIPS was born July 29, 1944, in Fairfield the daughter of Kenneth and Madeline BROWN LEWIS. She married Gary PHILLIPS and they divorced. She was united in common law marriage to Carl GRINDSTAFF.

She graduated from Cardinal High School in 1961 and they lived in Van Buren County, and the past several years in Mt. Pleasant.

She had operated the Lebanon Café and worked at several other jobs.

She enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing.

She enjoyed being with people.

She attended Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon.

Survivors include her husband; three sisters, Sharon FRANKLIN of Keosauqua, and Linda SHACKELFORD and Jeri CRANE both of Douds; and two step-sons, Darren and Kevin GRINDSTAFF, both of Iowa City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
