Bea HEALD, 74, of 1003 S. Main St. died at 2:08 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2004, at Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Packwood Christian Church, with the Rev. Frosty Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in Packwood Cemetery. The casket will be closed at Mrs. HEALD's request.

The family will receive friends following the funeral and burial Thursday at Packwood Christian Church.

Memorials have been established to the Children's Miracle Network, the Packwood First Responders or to the physical therapy department at Jefferson County Hospital.

Raymond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born Blanche Bernice COPELAND on Aug. 4, 1929, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Lewis and Blanche HARRISON COPELAND. She married Robert Eugene HEALD Jan. 25, 1949, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Fairfield. He died Oct. 8, 1991.

She lived her entire life in the Fairfield and Packwood communities. She attended Fairfield schools and graduated from Fairfield High School. She was a homemaker, farm wife and worked as a cook at Jefferson County Hospital for 12 1/2 years. She also was a greeter at the Fairfield Wal-Mart for several years.

She and her husband moved south of Fairfield in November 1983 and into Fairfield March 23, 1991.

Mrs. HEALD enjoyed flower gardening and reading. She was a member of Packwood Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship and Heritage Club.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald HEALD and wife Nancy of Centerville, Richard HEALD and wife Kortney of Packwood and Tom HEALD and wife Lori of Spring Hill, Kan.; four grandsons; three granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and one sister, Arlene "Peg" SIX of Fairfield.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary KING and Edith HORTON; and one brother, Donald COPELAND.
