Alleta Merle Nelson, 93, of 906 S. Sixth St. died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson County Hospital.

At Miss Nelsons request, no funeral will be held. The body has been cremated. Behner Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.

Miss Nelson was born Oct. 4, 1910, near Maple Hill, the daughter of Oscar and Lula Work Nelson.

For the past 14 months, Miss Nelson had made her home with a cousin, Madolyn Chandler in Fairfield.

She graduated from Estherville High School, then spent many years on the farm near Wallingsford. She moved to Estherville after retirement.

She was the last of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Claire Nelson and Floyd Nelson; and one sister, Vera Nelson.
