Earl "Shorty" KENNEDY, 76, 1102 S. Eighth St., died at 4:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 1992, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Glasgow Cemetery. Open visitation will begin at noon Wednesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Glasgow Cemetery.
KENNEDY was born March 29, 1915, in Maxwell, the son of Joseph Russell and Mary Jane ISOM KENNEDY. He married Selma PICKARD on Jan. 6, 1940, in Kahoka, Mo. A farmer for more than 48 years, he farmed in Cedar Township, Glasgow and moved to the Fairfield community in 1978. He also was a grain dealer for 20 years.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Karen SMITH of rural Davenport, Cheryl MESSER of Mount Pleasant, Pam ELMORE of Fairfield; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother of Fairfield; a brother, Dale of Upland.
