Barbara JOHNSON

The service for Barbara Lee JOHNSON, 63, of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., formerly of Fairfield who died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 1992, at St. Mary Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo., will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Kamm officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to American Cancer Society.

Mrs. JOHNSON was born Oct. 31, 1928, at Corning, the daughter of James Oscar and Merle I. CARUTH MEANS. She grew up in Corning and graduated from Corning High School in 1946. On May 1, 1950, she married Bernard JOHNSON Jr. at Corning. They lived in North Carolina, Shenandoah and Ottumwa before moving to Fairfield in 1965. She was a member of the Episcopal church.

A homemaker, she was secretary for dean of student affairs at Parsons College from 1965 to 1973 and worked at ACCO-Loudens for 11 years before retiring. Her interests included golf, traveling and the outdoors, but especially her family. She and her husband retired to Camdenton, Mo., in October 1990.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Jim of Fairfield, Jerry of Camdenton; a grandson; her mother of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Pat KENNEDY of Omaha; several nieces and nephews. Her father preceded her in death.
