Dorothy 'Dot' HOSTETLER STEELE

Dorothy "Dot" HOSTETLER STEELE, 71, of Jackson, Calif., former area resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 1992, in Jackson.

A memorial service was held Monday at Sutter Creek United Methodist Church in Sutter Creek, Calif. Inurnment will be in Sunset View Cemetery at Jackson. A memorial has been established to Hospice of Amador, 839 North Highways 49 and 88, Suite E, Jackson, Calif., 95642. Daneri Morturary, (209) 223-0793, in Jackson was in charge of arrangements.

A Jefferson County native, Mrs. STEELE married Claude STEELE on Sept. 18, 1944, in Ottumwa. They lived in Iowa until 1983, when they moved to Amador County, Calif., and lived in the Jackson area. She was a member of Sutter Creek United Methodist Church and of the Toastmaster.

Surviving are her husband; two sons, Dennis Alan of Illinois, Claude Bruce of Rocklin, Calif.; two grandchildren and two brothers, Raymond HOSTETLER of Connecticut and Richard HOSTETLER of Iowa.
