Maria ZARAGOZA, 98, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at home.

Maria Luisa ZARAGOZA

Maria Luisa ZARAGOZA, 98, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at home.

A funeral is at 2 p.m. Sunday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends is noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, the two hours before the funeral, at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established. Memorials and cards can be sent to 1805 S. Main St., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. ZARAGOZA was born Aug. 25, 1915, in Tampico, Mexico, the daughter of Maria Demetria Victoriana SANCHEZ. She married Natividad ZARAGOZA in 1931.

In 1944, the couple moved to Fairfield.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed time with family and friends.

She especially liked watching her grandchildren.

She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Hawkeye fan.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fairfield.

Survivors include three sons, Raymond ZARAGOZA of San Antonio, Texas, Victor ZARAGOZA and spouse Dixie, and Rene ZARAGOZA, all of Fairfield; 30 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister; one daughter-in-law; three children; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
