B. MONSON Dies At 83

Bessie V. MONSON, 83, 207 N. Ninth, died at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday at Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health the past year.

She was born Jan. 4, 1894 in Jefferson County near Fairfield, the daughter of Oscar and Mary HILLGREN MONSON. She lived her entire life in the Fairfield community and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are four sisters, Lydia JOHNSON, Ruth HILLMAN, Olive McCORMICK, all of Fairfield, and Pearl CASE of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Gilbert and Earl, both of Fairfield. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Services will be Friday, 2 p.m., at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne L. Bartruff officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
