Wayne Dean SHELANGOSKI, 60, of Batavia, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

A funeral is not planned. The body will be cremated, interment of ashes will be at a later time at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

Wayne Dean SHELANGOSKI, 60, of Batavia, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield.

Mr. SHELANGOSKI was born Dec. 12, 1952, in Fairfield, the son of Clifford L. and Helen Elizabeth HESTON SHELANGOSKI. He married Ramona WRIGHT, Sept. 2, 1983. They divorced.

He lived most of his life in the Fairfield area and attended Van Buren High School.

He worked for The Dexter Company as a forklift driver for 17 years.

He loved fishing, four wheeling, his time with his grandkids and tinkering in his shop.

Survivors include two sons, Brad SHELANGOSKI and spouse Katie of Keota and Tony LONG of Iowa City; one daughter, Dena SHELANGOSKI of Libertyville; two grandchildren; his former wife Ramona; and five sisters, Beverly TAYLOR of Jacksonville, Fla., Marilyn POWELL of Agency, Shirley SHELANGOSKI of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Judy PATRICK of Manteca, Calif. and Cheryl HUNTOON of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Glen and Ernest SHELANGOSKI; and an infant sister, Marsha SHELANGOSKI.

Wayne Dean SHELANGOSKI

Wayne Dean SHELANGOSKI, age 60, of Batavia died Friday, August 23, 2013, at the Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield from cancer.

Wayne was born December 12, 1952 in Fairfield, the son of Clifford L. and Helen Elizabeth HESTON SHELANGOSKI.

He lived most of his life in the Fairfield area and attended Van Buren High School.

Wayne married Ramona WRIGHT, September 2, 1983. They later divorced.

He worked for Dexter as a forklift driver for 17 years.

He loved fishing, four wheeling, his time with his grandkids and tinkering in his shop.

Deceased family members include his parents, 2 brothers Glen and Ernest SHELANGOSKI and an infant sister Marsha SHELANGOSKI.

Surviving are his 2 sons Brad (Katie) SHELANGOSKI of Keota and Tony LONG of Iowa City, and 1 daughter Dena SHELANGOSKI of Libertyville; grandchildren: Aiden SHELANGOSKI and Addison LONG; his former wife Ramona and sisters: Beverly (Robert) TAYLOR of Jacksonville, FL., Marilyn POWELL of Agency; Shirley SHELANGOSKI of Pleasant Hill, CA. and Cheryl HUNTOON of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Wayne will be today from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.

Cremation will follow the visitation. There will not be a funeral ceremony.

Interment of ashes will be at a later time at Maple Hill Cemetery at Birmingham.

A memorial has been established.

Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Birmingham.
