Iola Haynes Manning, 81, of Bonaparte died at 11:37 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Larry Wallingford officiating. Burial will be in McDowell Cemetery, north of Fairfield.

Visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the family present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at PO Box 125, Bonaparte 52620.

Mrs. Manning was born Jan. 21, 1923, near Packwood, the daughter of Oscar and Marie Quackenbush Haynes. She married Fred Ridgeway. They were divorced. She married Clifford Manning Sept. 11, 1954, near Cantril.

Mrs. Manning grew up in the Bentonsport community, lived in Mount Pleasant and California and in Bonaparte for the past 10 years. She had been employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown and at the Mount Pleasant Mental Health Institute.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Charles Ridgeway and wife Vickie of Porterville, Calif.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Florence Cornelius of Birmingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Ila Haynes, Dorothy James, Mary Warner, Doris Barr, Mable Johnson and Patty Dillon; and five brothers, Harold, Everett, Billy, Donald and Bobbie Haynes.
