Mrs. GARDNER Rites Monday

Mrs. George GARDNER, 88, Fairfield Route 4, died Thursday at Jefferson Square Manor in Ottumwa.

Last rites will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Melburn H. Sorenson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. GARDNER was the former Sarah Ellen JINKS. She was born May 19, 1885 in Henderson County, Ill., the daughter of Silas and Elizabeth BUCHANAN JINKS.

She was married to Leslie L. BURNETT, who died in 1945. On Sept. 4, 1955 she was married to George GARDNER, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roscoe MEEKER, Fair Grove, Mo.; two sons, Chester BURNETT, Agency, and Cecil BURNETT, Bennett; a stepson, Richard BURNETT, Ottumwa; and three step-daughters, Mrs. Dora LENZ, Lone Tree; Mrs. Frances SCHUESSLER, Iowa City; and Mrs. Eunice CLINE, Fairfield.

Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Ethel WILLIAMS, Bloomfield; Mrs. Basil MESSER and Mrs. Ada WILSON, both of Fairfield. One brother, one sister and one stepson are deceased.
