Chris UNKRICH dies suddenly

Chris E. UNKRICH, 54, native of Jefferson County and a U.S. Army Veteran, died suddenly at 4:43 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Hospital.

UNKRICH served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and American Legion. He served as the State Service Officer for the Disabled American Veterans. He had lived in Jefferson County all of his life and was a retired farmer.

Services for UNKRICH will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery where military rites will be conducted.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Chris E. UNKRICH was born Feb. 11, 1928, in Jefferson County. He was the son of Clifford and Bernice BALDWIN UNKRICH.

His marriage to Kathryn Jean McWHIRTER took place Feb. 14, 1948, in Fairfield.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by one son, B. Bruce UNKRICH, Fairfield; and a daughter, Dianne, at home. Also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford UNKRICH, Fairfield.

Admin. note: This obituary gives his birthdate as February 11th, however the Social Security Death Index online gives a birthdate of February 5th. He is buried in Lot 4th.099.
