M.D. ANDERSON rites Tuesday

Services for Merlyn D. ANDERSON, 55, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Salina Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ted Whitham officiating. Burial will be in the Salina Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Salina Presbyterian Church, or the Heart Fund.

ANDERSON died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday at his home near Germanville.

He was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Fairfield. He was the son of Carl and Maude KRUMBOLTZ ANDERSON. He was married to Emma Kay SMITH May 31, 1943, in Germanville.

ANDERS (sp), a farmer, had lived his entire life in Jefferson County. He was a member of the Salina Presbyterian.

In addition to his widow, ANDERSON is survived by four sons and three daughters: Roy, Brighton; Roger, Brighton; Richard, State College, Pa.; and Bob, also of Brighton; Elaine ANDERSON, Des Moines; Kathleen ANDERSON, Columbia, Mo; and Phyllis HIRD, Brighton.

Other survivors include two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gerald, Route 2, Brighton; Clarence, Route 2, Brighton; William ANDERSON, Route 1, Fairfield; two sisters, Dorothy MIDDLEKOOP, Batavia; and Marjorie RUSSELL, Denham Springs, La. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
