Services Set For Janet CURTISServices for Janet Kay CURTIS, 30, killed in a traffic accident near Warrensburg, Mo., Saturday, will be held in the First Christian Church in Fairfield Tuesday afternoon.
The service will be at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff and Rev. Ed Dorman officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. today in Warrensburg with the Rev. Hubert Neth officiating. Following the service the casket was scheduled to be flown to Fairfield by plane provided by Cloyce Palmer, president of Fairfield Engineering Co. in Fairfield. Janet's mother, Mrs. John SIX, accompanied the casket.
Members of the family will receive friends at Raymond Funeral Home this evening, Monday, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established in Janet's memory to the Children's Fund at Warrensburg. contributions (sic - no capital) may be left at the Raymond Funeral Home.
Word reaching Fairfield said Mrs. CURTIS was killed instantly about mid-morning Saturday when the car she was driving crossed over the center lane on the highway and collided with a pickup truck. Authorities said it appeared as if Mrs. CURTIS had gone to sleep while driving.
It was reported the man driving the pickup truck was seriously injured and was taken to a hospital in Kansas City.
Janet Kay CURTIS was born Feb. 23, 1947, in Fairfield, the daughter of John and Jean SCHROEDER SIX. She attended school in Fairfield and graduated from the Fairfield High School.
Her marriage to Edward CURTIS took place Dec. 28, 1966 in Fairfield. They have lived in Warrensburg for the past ten years where she was a member of the Jaycettes and the PTA of the Southeast School in Warrensburg. She would have served as president of the PTA next year. Mrs. CURTIS was a member of the First Christian Church in Fairfield.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. CURTIS is survived by her two sons, Jimmy 9, and Bobby, both at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John SIX, Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Jeri KUNKLE, and Mrs. Jolene BARTRUFF; and brother, Jeff SIX, all of Fairfield. Also her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George SCHROEDER, Agency.
