Funeral services will be Monday, July 2, for Joseph N. MOORE, longtime Fairfield resident who died at 9:35 a.m. Thursday at the Jefferson County Hospital following a short illness.
The rites Monday will be held at the Raymond Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Weida officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Joseph N. MOORE, 78, was born Aug. 10, 1894, in Monnett, Mo., the son of Alex and Anna SAWASH MOORE. He was reared and educated in Missouri, and moved to Iowa at age 16.
He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Brighton and Libertyville Communities, and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
His marriage to Myrtle BAKER took place in 1913. She preceded him in death. He was married Feb. 24, 1938, to Lenore RUGGLES at Bethany, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Elmer, Brighton, and Loren, Washington; one daughter, Mrs. Mable DOWNING, Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence, Chelsea, Mich., and Ernest, Manchester, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Ressie MENEREY, and Candace MOORE, both of Ann Arbor, Mich.; along with nieces and nephews.
MOORE was preceded in death by two sons, one daughter and two brothers.
