Kay CLARRIDGE

Kay CLARRIDGE, 87, of Richland, died late Saturday July 27, 2013, at Sunnybrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Richland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Benge officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Memorials to Richland United Methodist Church or Friends Cemetery may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 155 Joy St., Richland 52585.

Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Richland.

Mrs. CLARRIDGE was born July 4, 1926, in Fairfield the daughter of Dorothy MIDDAUGH. She married John CLARRIDGE June 15, 1946, in Richland. They were later divorced.

She was raised in Richland, and graduated from Richland High School in 1943. She attended Central Collage in Pella.

She moved to California in 1953 and returned to Iowa in 2003.

She worked for a hospital group in medical records for many years and retired in 2002.

She helped establish the Kay Clarridge Golf Tournament which operated for a number of years for the benefit of the American Heart Association.

She also participated in a long term women's health initiative to study aging.

She was a member of the Rubio Ladies Club and attended the Richland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Joy FALLON of Los Angeles and Robin MARSHALL and her husband Birney of White City, Ore.; three sons, Scott CLARRIDGE of Grass Valley, Calif., Mace CLARRIDGE and his wife Soheyla of Hixon, Tenn., and Robert CLARRIDGE and his wife Ursula of Mancos, Colo.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and special friend, Carroll Steinbeck of Rubio.

She was preceded in death by her mother; one daughter, Jan MILOVICH; and one grandson, Garrett CLARRIDGE.
