Dale W. HARWOOD rites Friday

Services for Dale Walker HARWOOD, 64, Route 1, who died early Wednesday at his home, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Vaughn officiating. Burial will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to the Heart Association and the American Lung Association.

HARWOOD was born Feb. 6, 1923 in Fairfield, the son of Clay and Verna WALKER HARWOOD. He married Winetta C. VORHIES Aug. 16, 1941 in Memphis, Mo. He had lived in Glasgow for 40 years and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Cavalry in World War II.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Larry, David, Dennis, all of Lockridge; Donald, Fairfield; two daughters, Shirley JOHNSON, Mount Pleasant; Sharon VAUGHAN, Columbus, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; five sisters, Dorothy EMANUEL, Denver, Colo.; Kathryn STEPHENSON, Universal City, Texas; Ruth HEINTZ, Clear Lake; Beverly STREED, Kansas City, Mo.; Carolyn FARMER, Weldon, Calif.; one brother, Charles, Ankeny. Three brothers and an infant daughter preceded him in death.
