MANNING rites on Wednesday

Services for Roy R. MANNING, 600 S. Third, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Barker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the cancer fund.

MANNING, 88, died at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson County Hospital.

He was a retired farmer and sorghum maker and lived most of his life in Jefferson County.

He moved to Keosauqua in later years and returned to Fairfield in September, 1983.

Roy R. MANNING was born February 12, 1896, in Henry County. He was the son of Albert J. and Mary E. VAN SANT MANNING. He was married to Cecil HAIFLEY Dec. 7, 1916. She died Oct. 19, 1975. His marriage to Zelda TEDROW took place March 13, 1976, in Keosauqua. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons: Kenneth MANNING, Brighton, and Keith MANNING, Bradford, R.I.; a daughter, Darlene HOUSEAL, Fairfield.

Also six grandchildren, two sisters, Wilma CROW, Milton, and Maxine JAMISON, Mount Pleasant; and a brother, Lester MANNING, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
