BRIGHTON - Services for Myron (Mike) H. KURTZ, 81, who died Tuesday morning at Washington County Hospital, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in E. Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Robert Busher officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. Memorials have been established to St. Joseph's Church and Brighton First Responders.
KURTZ was born Aug. 10, 1902 in Germanville, the son of John S. and Bertha KAUFFMAN KURTZ. On May 19, 1928, he married Agnes DRISH at St. Joseph's Church.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Gerry WEBER of Brighton; two granddaughters; two half-brothers, Donald KURTZ of Davenport, and Raymond KURTZ of Brighton and a half-sister, Frances SHUPPY of Bettendorf. His parents, a daughter, a brother, a sister, three half-sisters and a half-brother preceded him in death.
KURTZ was a member of St. Joseph's Church. He had farmed all his life in the Brighton-Pleasant Plain area until moving to Brighton in 1972.
